4 Restaurants are selected usually having a different style of food. For instance, one restaurant may have Veggie hot dogs. Another may be Asian food themed. The 3rd may be Mexican food themed. From those 3 restaurants, we go through a voting process based on a hierarchy. The hierarchy is based on the person’s show up percentage to meetups hosted by the Veggie Outers. In order to qualify for a vote, he/she needs to have attended at least 2 consecutive veggie outer meetups. The voting system works via point system. The more a veggie outer shows up to our meetups, the more say and influence they will have on where we will go next.

Using another example, let’s say another veggie outer cancels an hour before because they realized they had a graduation to attend. Their level would drop because its everyone’s responsibility to check their schedule to see if they can make it that day. This is in place because we respect the space of the restaurants we visit. In most cases, we always make a reservation to ensure that it is convenient for both us and the restaurant. If we make a reservation for 15 people and only 10 show up, it makes us look bad as a group. In many cases, the restaurant may need those seats for their other customers but they have to remain there for us. This will cause them to be less accommodating the next to time we pay them a visit. If a veggie outer is not in town at the time of an event, it doesn’t affect their percentage. The points and percentages are as following:

Show up %  Points      Level

50% - 65%       1               1

65% - 80%       2               2

Above 80%      3              3

The restaurant with the most voting points is where we will visit next. A few weeks before a meetup, the date is announced for when our next meet up will take place. Shortly after, a message is sent out to the members who are eligible for voting asking them which of the 3 restaurants would they like to visit. In that message, it shows them their voting level so they know what percentage range they fall in. If they would like to know their exact percentage, they can message back “ what is my current percentage” and it will be sent to them. This is to reward the most dedicated Veggie Outers. It is also a safeguard as it wouldn’t be fair for someone who never shows up to a meetup to have a vote in the next meetup if they are not likely to be there. Everyone's show up percentages is reset every January and July. This means that every six months, everyone will have the chance to make and maintain the show up percentage necessary for the voting level they wish to have. People who RSVP and who are no shows as defined in our attendance policy below will be ineligible to vote for the next 3 months or for the rest of that 6 month period if there are less then 3 months left in that period. The progress of the voting can be viewed any time between when the date of the meetup is announced and when it is decided under "Next Meetup" under the events tab

Attendance policy

Please keep all RSVP updated, and if you cannot attend an event contact Elijah to let him know so he can make adjustments to the number of attendees. He can be contacted through the meetup app via direct message, Instagram or on facebook. Note that on meetup, using the event chat or comments section as a way to contact Elijah about an RSVP is not valid as it is not the appropriate way of contacting him about an RSVP issue. Nor is simple selecting “Not going”. The not going option is for un RSVPing days or weeks ahead of time. Not unRSVPing last minute

“No Shows” as they are commonly referred, cause organization headaches. Reservations are often booked based on head count, A no show is when someone RSVPs and doesn’t show up to the event or un RSVPs within 48 hours of the meetup without contacting Elijah to let him know. Some events are limited to a certain amount of people, etc) and are disrespectful towards the organizers and other meetup members.

A violation of this policy will lead towards removal from the group for those who are going to a meetup for the 1st time. We of course understand that unexpected events happen in life, so this is often at the discretion of the organizer and can be reversed.

No shows from members that have been reoccurring at meetups will automatically be put on a waitlist for the next few meetups and won’t be allowed to RSVP early for events. This is so that will not occupy a spot for someone else who has been consistent to RSVP. They will have the option to RSVP for the event 48 hours before the event if there are any open spots for the event open. It should be noted that frequent no shows from even reoccurring members can also lead to the removal of the group. To avoid all of this, we ask that you only RSVP if and WHEN you know you can make it and if something comes up, follow the steps in this poilcy.

What happens if I am removed from the group on the meetup app for attendance but I would like to reapply?

We would be happy to approve you again to join us on meetup. Just contact Elijah via Facebook or Instagram and let him know you would like to rejoin. Keep in mind that if you are removed from the group again due to violation of the attendance policy, your removal will be permanent.

Giveaways

Here at The Veggie Outers, we conduct giveaway at our restaurant meetups for useful things that support a switch to a healthy plant based diet. Some of these include but aren’t limited to vegan recipe books, select blenders, food preparation items, books, workout equipment and dehydrators. To be eligible for the giveaways, you have to meet the following requirements.

  1. You’ve attended at least 2 Veggie Outers meetups

  2. You have not missed more than 1 of our Veggie Outers Restaurant meetups and participated via ordering and trying the food there within the last 6 months. This requirement is waved at some meetups.

  3. You have done a video review of all the restaurant meetups you have participated in

  4. You have not been a no show at any point during the calander year. No shows are not eligible for giveaways for the rest of that calendar year.

The meetups counted towards giveaways reset at the beginning of ever year. Giveaways are conducted via a number raffle where everyone who qualifies is given a number during the meetup. A number is then chosen at random using a google random number generator.

Event Promotion & Collaboration Policy

Event promotions and collaboration opportunities are always welcome and can help both us and the other party. In order for other events to be posted in our facebook group or promoted by us, the organizer or founder of said events must also be sharing our events. This way, we can both receive the benefits of the collaboration

In addition to the above, while there are many events in both the vegan world and health & wellness in general going on, not all of them aline with The Veggie Outers Brand. The founder Elijah Bilel is an advocate for traditional family in general. Because of this, not all events, founders or organizations are good fit to work with The Veggie Outers.

All non Veggie Outer events or collaborations posted in the facebook group will only be approved if Elijah has spoken to the organizer and has determined that both parties agendas are alined.

If there is an event that you would like to promote in The Veggie Outers, you can put the organizer of the event in contact with Elijah. He is reachable on facebook or instagram. If it’s determined that they are both heading in the same direction, then the event and future ones conducted by that organizer will be approved to be shared.

This covers our policies. If you have any questions, let us know!
