The Black Vegetarian Society of Texas is proud to present The Invisible Vegan, an acclaimed new documentary that explores why many in the African American community are embracing a plant-based lifestyle. Joining us for this event on Saturday, July 13, 4 pm, at the DeSoto Convention Center's Black Box Theater, will be Jasmine Leyva, who is featured in the film and is one of its directors as well. After the screening, Jasmine will speak briefly and participate in a Q and A session.

The Invisible Vegan is a 90-minute independent documentary that explores the problem of unhealthy dietary patterns in the African-American community, highlighting the health and wellness possibilities enabled by plant-based vegan diets and lifestyle choices. Over the past seven years, Jasmine has committed herself to veganism, both in lifestyle and research.
