In general we enjoyed our time at Iconic Eatery. A combination of tasty food with friendly customer service but somewhat steep prices leaves us with a great experience. Not in the mood to read? Check out the video review below!

Food: The food was pretty good. Since they are a vegan mexican restaurant, we can’t help but compare them to the other ones in the metroplex. El Polote and Casa Del Vegano in particular. While we agreed that they are indeed good, the other 2 restaurants mentioned do have a slight edge over them. That’s nothing to be ashamed of though as those other 2 are very good! Even still, many veggie outers agreed that even though the food is better at the 2 mentioned, the difference is very small though

Atmosphere: For this category, we do have to mentioned that it was the restaurant’s anniversary at the time we paid them a visit. Because of this, there were additional decorations in the building. This cause most of us to enjoy the atmosphere a lot! Even if those decorations are taken down though, the normal interior decor of the place is much better then most other restaurants

Customer Service: The staff is very friendly. Most likely one of the friendliest that we’ve encountered. We did have a few issue in this area though. As it stands, the restaurant does not have a website. We mentioned this before but restaurants nowadays should have a website. It’s an industry standard. They also have a reservation policy where they want you to call to make a reservation. There is nothing wrong with this on it’s own but when you combine this with not having a website, people won’t know you even have a policy and the steps you need to take to book a table. It’s seems rather unorthodix when comparing them to other restaurants. They also didn’t keep up with refilling any of the empty glasses on the table and we had to ask for things like napkins and silverware. These are areas that they could use some improvement on. If they do improve on these though, they would be perfect here since they are so friendly

Price: Thoughts here were mixed. Some thought their prices were a little too expensive. Others though they were about average. When comparing them to their vegan restaurant colleagues, they were a little above average. The portion sizes that we got for what we paid was still good though

Overall we recommend them for their tasty food and eccentric atmosphere. While the customer service could use some work in some areas, it wasn’t enough to break the experience

We enjoyed ourselves at My Thai & Vegan. Seeing as we have been here once before, the main thing that has changed is that their menu is bigger, better and their customer service has stepped up big time. Not that their service was bad before but it is not very exceptional. For details about the restaurant, checkout our 1st review here. You can see our video review for details on what food we got and what our individual ratings were.

Food: It was very tasty and the menu offers a good variety of foods. Normally there is more to say here but since every enjoy what they got, this concise statement speaks for the whole food category!

Atmosphere: The inside of loving hut has a nice and plant based decor. There are live plants that are nicely decorated around the restaurant. There are also various props for veganism on the wall on one side of the inside which is great! The only negative is that the inside of the place was kind of hot. It wasn’t 100 degrees inside or anything like that but since the doors are glass and have any blinds, it caused the inside to get a little hot. Because of this we don’t recommend coming with a hoodie on if its the summer for obvious reasons.

Customer Service: Overall loving hut was good here. The staff took our orders at our tables and brought our food out when it was ready. This is such as breath of fresh air since some restaurants are switching to a self served model. The only downside is it did take a while for everyone to get their food. Not extremely long but longer then other restaurants. That was in part due to the large size of our group though so that’s something to keep in mind.

Price: This is the most reasonable priced vegan restaurant we have ever visited. Their prices have remained the same and good despite other vegan restaurants appearing and inflation happening. You’re basically getting quality food with reasonable portions with prices ranging back to the early 2000s. you just can’t beat that!

Overall we definetly recommend them for their great tasting food and decent prices. The wait for our food and the temperature of the inside are things that could be improved but they didn’t ruin the experience. It’s a must try vegan restaurant!

The best summary of our experience here is that the meetup was interesting but for a variety of reasons. Some good, some bad. Not in the mood to read? Check out the video review below!

Food: This was easily the most mixed that we’ve ever felt about a restaurant when it comes to the food. Some of us loved the food while other really didn’t like it. There wasn’t really a middle ground. You either love it or hate it! We go more into detail on this in the video review but our advice to ask for the top 3 most popular items and pick something from one of those 3 since there most popular items are the most consistent when it comes to likability.

Atmosphere: The place is decked out in a African style theme. Not unlike the Pan African Connection Bookstore. There are sculptures all over the way as well as various crystals , beads and crystal books on display on for sale. Combine this with the afro beats that are playing in the background and you have yourself an Afrocentric atmosphere. We greatly found it to our liking! Some of us thought the music was a bit too loud but that aside, we enjoyed it. You may want to bring a jacket with you if you are dining in though as we found the inside to be a little chilly. Worse case scenerio, if it’s not that day then you could always take the jacket off.

Customer Service: Sadly this is where we have to be the most critical. It’s important to keep in mind that there were 16 of us so were weren’t a small crowd. Even still, it took around an hour for everyone to get their food. That’s not us collectively. We’re saying that from the time one veggie outer order their food, they got their food an hour later in most cases. That’s entirely too slow. On the brighter side, they are extremely nice and we liked the fact that they had a few physically menus that we could look at when deciding on what to order. Many restaurants just have their menu online nowadays. The actually menu in the store is bigger and has more options then the one we saw on their website and on the food delivery apps like Uber Eats and Doordash. This is something you’ll want to take note of. Sadly, this can’t make up for a long wait time though. Our advice is to order ahead of time if possible so that the wait can be massively reduced. Although part of the wait was due to our group size so that’s something to consider too.

Price: The prices in terms of a value ratio vary depending on what you get which is somewhat strange. Some of us felt what we got was well priced but others felt it was priced poorly. There were even some people that were kind of in the middle. Because of this, we’re going to refer you to watch the price section of our video review below. In there, we all share what each person got on the menu and commented on the price for that particular item. That should help you make a more informed decision when it comes to the price and value of it.

Overall we found the atmosphere to be the best element of the meetup. The food and price vary depending on what was order but the customer service could use some improvement. Mainly when it comes to the speed of getting the food out.
